THE ORIGINS

Hindu Kush × Emerald Triangle

In 1989, Marty sourced Hindu Kush seeds from Amsterdam. In this origin account, a Hindu Kush plant later pollinated Emerald Triangle plants in Boca Raton, Florida, creating the 1991 Florida seed stock, popped in ’92.

Two selections from that seed stock became:

Dax’s selection

Sherp helped get seeds to the crew that popped, shared & preserved them. Bubba later brought the cuts to Los Angeles, where Josh D helped grow, preserve & spread OG Kush.

Genetics timeline: 1989 → present.

In this account, the OG / OG Kush name emerged around 1995 in LA, attributed to Josh D, with OG meaning “Original.”
