How Nathaniel “Nastee Glass” Menz built the cobalt blue 1-pound jar that became one of the most memorable pieces of celebrity cannabis glass.
The Maker
Behind Snoop Dogg’s blue 1-pound nug jar was Nathaniel Z. Menz, better known as Nastee Glass.
Trained in scientific glassblowing, Nate fabricated the piece from the ground up, combining technical glasswork with the scale and custom details required for the project.
The Jerome Baker Connection
The connection to Snoop came through Jerome Baker Designs founder Jason Harris.
Harris had ties around Snoop Dogg’s circle dating back to the 1990s. Years later, Jerome Baker Designs lined up the project and asked Nate to build the jar.
Jerome made the connection. Nate handled the fabrication.
December 1, 2016: The Build Begins
Before Snoop Dogg’s name was publicly attached to the project, Nate was already documenting the build.
On December 1, 2016, he described working on a piece for a “person that is famous.”
His posts showed oversized vac stacks, a massive joint, a 6-inch female taper and custom tooling created specifically for the customer’s needs.
Those process photos provide an early record of the jar taking shape at Nate’s bench.
The Artists Behind the Details
As the project developed, other glass artists contributed specific parts of the finished piece.
Hefe Glass joined Nate for an important portion of the artistic work.
Chip Glass helped apply the Snoop Dogg logo to the jar, while Zacto Glass blasted the lid.
Nate remained the primary fabricator, responsible for building the jar itself and carrying the project from its technical foundation toward the finished piece.
December 28: Jerome Baker Reveals the Jar
On December 28, 2016, Jerome Baker Designs publicly unveiled the completed cobalt blue jar.
The finished piece featured a fitted lid and Snoop Dogg emblem, with posts describing it as a custom jar “for Snoop.”
The announcement said the jar was large enough to hold 1 pound of cannabis and credited the collaboration to Jerome Baker × Nastee Glass.
December 31: Nate Shows the Finished Piece
Three days later, on December 31, 2016, Nastee Glass posted the completed jar on his own page.
That post is especially important when viewed alongside his earlier build documentation.
The December timeline directly connects Nate’s original bench work, process photos and fabrication posts to the finished Snoop Dogg jar revealed by Jerome Baker Designs.
The $18,000 Story
Early coverage attached an eye-catching price to the piece.
The jar was widely described as being “rumored” to be worth about $18,000.
However, no public invoice, payment record or independent appraisal has surfaced confirming that figure.
The $18,000 number should therefore be treated as an estimate or reported rumor, not a verified sale price.

Nate’s connection to the finished jar is also physically preserved in the artwork.
According to the documentation surrounding the piece, his signature appears inside both parts of the jar.
Combined with the December build photographs, original captions and December 31 reveal, the surviving record provides a direct trail from the fabrication process to the completed piece.
Legacy
Snoop Dogg’s 1-pound nug jar became a memorable piece of celebrity glass history through Jerome Baker Designs’ connection to Snoop and Nathaniel “Nastee Glass” Menz’s craftsmanship.
Jason Harris helped bring the project together. Hefe Glass, Chip Glass and Zacto Glass contributed important artistic elements.
But the surviving build record makes Nate’s central role clear.
Nastee Glass was the primary fabricator who built the jar from the bench up, giving him his proper place in the history of the piece.
