How a respected forum grower helped carry California’s guarded clone culture into the modern seed era through Fire OG, The White & White Fire.
Forum Roots
OG Raskal built his reputation online before becoming known primarily as a breeder.
He came out of the Overgrow era before moving into ICMag. By January 2004, he was documenting a clone-only Trainwreck sourced from Humboldt, followed by plants including C99, Schrom, Sour Diesel, Green Crack & Giesel.
Long before seed releases defined his name, photos of elite flower & tightly run gardens established his credibility with growers.
The Cerritos Crew
The Cannabis Brothers, Philip & Terence Cabral, grew up around Raskal in the Cerritos area.
According to their firsthand account, Raskal taught them a 2-light DWC cabinet grow around 2000. They remember him producing unusually high-quality flower & genetics from small rooms well before his work became widely commercialized.
Those relationships would later become important to the history of Fire OG & White Fire.
The Fire OG Handoff
According to Philip Cabral, he purchased an OG Kush cut for $5,000 around 2004 from Hollywood Hills grower Pauly Kush.
Before going to prison, Philip says he passed the cut to Raskal.
The Cannabis Brothers credit Raskal with naming it Fire OG, then holding, protecting & popularizing the clone.
The deeper origin of the plant remains disputed. The strongest claim in this account is not that Raskal created the original OG Kush genetics, but that he became an important keeper of the cut that came to be known as Fire OG.
Reversing The White
The White came from Florida grower Krome.
Raskal reversed the clone, producing pollen that could be used across elite female plants. That technique allowed genetics previously circulated mainly as guarded clones to move into feminized seed form.
The reversal became one of the most important tools in Raskal’s breeding work.
Creating White Fire
When Philip returned, the Cannabis Brothers say Raskal had already used reversed The White pollen on Fire OG and gave him seeds from the cross.
They directly credit Raskal with creating White Fire.
By 2010, Karma Genetics was publicly identifying White Fire as OG Raskal’s work. By 2012, growers were widely shortening the name to WiFi.
The cross would become the strain most closely associated with his breeding legacy.
From Forums to the Cup
Raskal remained highly private even as demand for his genetics grew.
According to the Cannabis Brothers, around 2012 he was reluctant to sell seeds publicly at a High Times Cannabis Cup. They convinced him to participate, operated the booth & remember doing roughly $50,000 in sales.
That moment helped move OG Raskal Genetics beyond forum culture and into larger public cannabis events.
White Fire #43
Raskal also supplied the seed population that produced White Fire #43.
The keeper was selected and popularized through the Jackmayoffer, TLC & Jungle Boys circle.
Raskal bred the seed line, while the later group deserves credit for identifying the specific #43 phenotype that became famous.
The strongest published estimate places the hunt at approximately 300–400 seeds.
The Alien Years
Around 2010, Raskal also worked with genetics connected to Obsoul33t, releasing Alien Kush F2s before building additional lines around his Fire & White genetics.
Releases included Fire Alien Kush, Fire OG BX, Fire Alien Urkle, Fire Alien Romulan & White Fire Alien.
Many drops were limited and distributed through THCFarmer, creating heavy demand. Some packs later traded for more than $1,000 on the secondary market.
Legacy
OG Raskal helped bridge California’s guarded-clone era with modern seed culture.
His role in Fire OG is best described carefully: firsthand accounts credit him with receiving, protecting, naming & popularizing the cut, while its deeper origin remains disputed.
His breeding legacy is clearer. He reversed The White, created White Fire/WiFi & supplied the seed population that produced White Fire #43.
The forums preserve the progression from elite underground grower to influential breeder, while Fire OG, WiFi & the Alien-era crosses show how far those genetics traveled once they moved beyond the clone-only world.
