From a $500 start in Las Vegas to Blue Power, SinMint Cookies and genetics that continue moving through modern cannabis.
Built in Vegas
SinCity Seeds was founded in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2010 by Don Decatur.
According to Don, he started with about $500 and support from friends in the WeedTracker community.
The company’s first public seed release reached a Southern California dispensary in 2011, marking the beginning of SinCity’s move from forum-era breeding into the wider cannabis market.
Blue Power
Blue Power became SinCity Seeds’ flagship strain.
Created by Don in Las Vegas in 2010, the cross is Power × White Moonshine, commonly listed as:
(Sour Double × Master Kush) × (The White × Blue Moonshine)
A very small F1 release came first, followed by a broader F2 release at the 2013 Los Angeles High Times Cannabis Cup.
Blue Power became the genetic foundation that helped define the SinCity catalog.
The SinCity Oilers
SinCity also developed an early concentrate division known as the SinCity Oilers.
At the 2013 Secret Cup, extracts made from Tangerine Power won 1st overall and Best Shatter.
Tangerine Power seeds followed, becoming another defining early release for the brand.
The win connected SinCity’s breeding work with the rapidly growing concentrate culture of the early 2010s.
SinMint Cookies
One of SinCity’s most influential releases came from pairing Forum Cut Girl Scout Cookies × Blue Power.
The result was SinMint Cookies.
Released in late 2013, SinCity Seeds says it was among the earliest legitimate GSC hybrids sold publicly.
SinMint Cookies quickly became one of the company’s bestsellers and appeared on a High Times top strains list in 2014.
The Seed Junky Connection
Anthony Hart, then known as Justblazen and later the founder of Seed Junky Genetics, became connected to SinCity during this period.
Hart started a Blue Power thread and publicly indicated that SinMint was next.
As demand for SinMint feminized seeds increased, he was offered breeding work with SinCity.
That relationship became important because SinMint later moved far beyond the original SinCity catalog.
Into Legal Las Vegas
As Nevada’s regulated cannabis market developed, Don moved deeper into licensed cultivation and extraction.
He built cultivation and production teams while helping bring longtime growers into legal cannabis jobs.
According to Don, his team also became the first licensed Nevada production facility to produce rosin.
That claim comes from Don’s firsthand account.
The Genetics Keep Moving
SinMint became one of SinCity’s most important contributions to later breeding.
Seed Junky used SinMint in Animal Mints, helping create a genetic family that would later connect to strains including Wedding Cake and Kush Mints.
Another SinCity line, SinMintz, a cross of Zkittlez × SinMint Cookies, was later used by WCC Canna in breeding work connected to Toad Venom.
The original packs may have been limited, but the genetics continued moving through later breeding programs.
More Than One Flagship
SinCity continued expanding beyond Blue Power and SinMint Cookies.
Over the Moon Kush, a Headband × Blue Power cross, later received recognition from High Times.
The company also expanded into regular seeds, feminized seeds, CBD genetics and autoflowers, along with vault releases, box sets and collaborations.
The catalog evolved, but Blue Power remained the backbone of the brand.
Legacy
SinCity Seeds helped put Las Vegas breeding on the national cannabis map.
Blue Power built the foundation. SinMint Cookies carried that work into a much larger breeding network. Later breeders continued pushing those genetics into new strains long after the original releases disappeared.
The lasting impact is not only in the SinCity catalog itself.
It is in how far those genetics traveled.
