the pack diaries: light work, heavy stress

i pull up to usps, trying to act normal. got a qp of wax boxed up, heart already beating a little faster.

dude weighs it, looks at me weird, and goes, “sir… this is extremely light. if you switch to a weight-based box, you’ll save close to twenty dollars.”

in my head i’m like why is he talking so much? why is he looking at me like that?

i tell him, “nah, i’m good,” trying to keep it cool.

but he keeps pushing—“it’s super light, man. you’re overpaying.”

now i’m tripping. does he know? is this some kind of setup? are they stalling me while someone in the back calls somebody?

finally, i step to the side real chill, swap it out, hand it back, and dip as fast as i can.

saved the twenty… but bro, felt like i aged five years in those two minutes.
