THE GELATO KID: SHERB MONEY’S RISE TO CANDY GAS KING

Raised in Modesto with a direct line to the Bay Area, Sherb Money grew up surrounded by grow rooms, classic Cheech & Chong tapes, and the early California cannabis scene. His first blunt—Romulan, post–Taco Bell—left him couch-locked at 13 and cemented a lifelong obsession with the plant.

GARAGE BOOTCAMP

At 18, after catching a case, his father handed him the keys to a 28-light setup running GDP, Green Crack, and Blue Dream. There were no manuals—just hands-on work, trial and error, and hard-earned grams-per-watt lessons.

SUNSET SHERB ACCIDENT → BLUE SHERB

During a move, a prized Sunset Sherb clone hermed. From 40+ seeds, one phenohunt yielded a blueberry-citrus gelato funk unlike anything else. Blue Sherb was born.

SHERB MONEY RISES

While clearing packs, a friend joked, “We gettin’ that Sherb money.” The name stuck. Soon, heavyweight merch and loud, candy-gas bags under the Sherb Money banner hit the streets.

CUP HUSTLE TO CULT STATUS

With no official booth, Sherb set up a table, cracked open jars, and let the terps speak. Blue Sherb made waves, leading to early connections with Cali Kush Farms and Karma Genetics—long before California’s recreational market launched.

STRAIN HIGHLIGHTS

Blue Nerds became a staple candy-gas strain. Kamikaze (Z Cube × Zkittlez) brought loud cheese funk. His Mr. Gelatti cut powered Karma Genetics’ Sweets line. Zetos (Zkittlez × UK Cheese × OZ Kush), bred with Karma Cartel, remained a rare prize across Europe and California.

BURN TEST ETHOS

Sherb’s rule: if it doesn’t smoke at a 9/10 or better, it’s clipped. White ash only. Every pheno is tested personally, keepers are vaulted, and mids never make it into branded packaging.

COLLABORATIONS

Highlights include Sherberry Pie (Blue Sherb × Grape Pie) with Cannarado, Mediterranean Lo Mein with Geeked Genetics, and Zucchini (Zkittlez × Animal Mints) with Calibre. With Global Genetics, he released Blue Nerdz seeds and Toxic Candy Lands (LCG × Runtz). He also teamed with The Jig Is Up for a Candy Paint project.

EAST COAST & EUROPEAN REACH

Sherb Money brought Blue Sherb to New York before the East Coast candy wave hit, launching Coney Island Candy in the city. His mylar drops found their way into Spanish clubs, and he remains connected to the European Zkittlez scene.

THE NERDZ SERIES

Blue Nerds evolved into a full candy collection—Nerdz de Limon, Cherry Nerdz, Black Cherry Nerdz, Bubblegum Nerdz—each bred for connoisseur-level flavor and effect.
