Skate and Soil
Founders Jake and Marco first connected through skateboarding in fifth grade, and that early friendship evolved into a lifelong creative partnership. Their shared sense of rhythm and discipline shaped the foundation of No Till Kings, a cultivation brand where regenerative ethics meet indoor precision. Between them and their small, dedicated crew, the team holds more than three decades of growing experience—earned through practice, not theory.
Roots Before Hype
No Till Kings began in a Long Beach garage—two growers, a worm bin, and a belief in soil as a living ecosystem. They rejected bottled nutrients and shortcuts from the start, relying instead on biology and observation. Their philosophy: let nature lead. Worms, compost, and microbes were the foundation long before branding or licensing entered the picture.
Beds Before Brands
By 2017, the team expanded into a 5,000-square-foot facility, constructing permanent raised beds to replace pots. Some of these beds still run the original soil mix today. Others are amended through a collaboration with The Soil King, ensuring that the no-till principles remain intact. The facility became a living farm under a roof—proof that regenerative methods could thrive indoors.
Closed-Loop Process
Every input in the system cycles back. Stalks and fan leaves stay in the beds, broken down by worms and beneficial fungi. Compost teas and cover crops are created in-house, and external amendments are sourced locally. Nothing leaves the loop unless it’s flower. The method isn’t marketing—it’s infrastructure designed to last for decades.
Pheno-Driven Flower
Each strain at No Till Kings starts from seed, never from clone drops or borrowed hype cuts. Pheno-hunting remains central to their program, with selections based on flavor, structure, and wash potential. Their catalog includes Lazer Fuel (Gary Payton × Falcon-9), Black Patronus (RS-11 × Falcon-9), and a rare Durban Poison cut that keeps their lineup balanced between modern hybrids and legacy roots. Every jar reflects a clean burn, full terpene profile, and consistent expression.
Small Team, Steady Work
No Till Kings operates with fewer than fifteen people. Each team member touches the process directly—from bed management to trim—and shares the same commitment that started in that Long Beach garage. The scale stays intentionally small, ensuring that every plant and every batch receives equal care.
OCAL-Certified
In 2021, No Till Kings became one of the first indoor farms in California to achieve OCAL certification, the state’s official organic-equivalent program. Their growing methods didn’t change to qualify; the certification simply verified what they were already doing—building sustainable soil systems indoors.
No Gloss, No Gimmicks
Harvests are slow-dried, hand-trimmed, and quality checked by the same crew who grew them. There’s no outsourcing, no flash. Every batch is small, consistent, and transparent. Their flower tells the story—clean, complex, and unmanipulated.
Cult Over Clout
The brand grew quietly through dispensary shelves and word-of-mouth, not influencer campaigns. In 2024, No Till Kings earned 2nd place at the Transbay Challenge San Diego, reinforcing that craft and authenticity still carry weight in a market flooded with trends.
Steady Approach
Looking ahead, the Kings plan to expand preroll production and introduce a new SKU by the end of 2025. But their foundation remains unchanged: build soil, trust biology, and let results speak.
Keep the beds alive. Keep the worms fed. Let the flower speak.
