Florida Roots and Family Hustle
Ozi grew up in a close-knit Cuban-American community in Florida, where family and hustle went hand in hand. Before legalization, his flower was already earning a reputation in the underground scene. That drive eventually led him west to California’s medical cannabis market alongside his wife and future hash icon, Flora.
Love, Legacy, and Hash
Flora was more than a partner in life, she was a partner in the grind. Together, they built a bond around family, Cuban culture, and cannabis. What started as Ozi’s passion became a shared mission. “Family, hash, and hard work are my life,” Flora said, grounding their legacy in values beyond just craft.
From Florida to NorCal Fire
By the mid-2010s, Ozi and Flora had relocated to Sacramento. While Ozi continued to earn respect for his top-shelf flower, their shift toward solventless concentrates is what truly set them apart. At a time when BHO dominated, they leaned into dry sift and rosin—technologies that were still considered niche.
The Birth of Cuban Tech
Ozi pioneered a method of dry sift extraction that came to be known as “Cuban Tech.” By combining layered screens with static energy, he achieved resin separation so clean it consistently delivered 99% gland heads with no contamination. The results shocked the community—full melt hash with THC percentages exceeding 80%. Forums lit up with debate, and Cuban Tech quickly became a benchmark.
Flora Becomes the Queen
As Ozi refined the process, Flora transformed from student to master. She eventually began teaching other hashmakers, including The Dank Duchess, who publicly credited Flora with elevating her own dry sift skills. Flora earned the title “The Cuban Hash Queen,” becoming one of the few women publicly celebrated in a male-heavy niche.
Competition Breakthrough
The turning point came at the 2015 California cannabis cups, where Ozi and Flora introduced Cuban Tech to the world. Judges were stunned by the purity and melt quality—solventless hash that could rival and even surpass BHO. It was proof that the craft could compete on the biggest stage.
The Wins That Made History
Their competitive run cemented their reputation:
-
2015 Denver: 1st place with Cookies & Cream (Exotic Genetix)
-
2015 NorCal: 1st place with Kimbo Kush (Flora’s solo win)
-
2015 World Cup: 3rd place with Cookies & Cream
-
2015 Dope Cup: 1st place with Kimbo Kush (84.37% THC)
-
2016 Michigan: 1st place with Cookies & Cream
Each award reinforced that Cuban Tech wasn’t just hype—it was history in the making.
Digital Hash Dynasty
Through Instagram and online forums, Ozi and Flora documented their process—posting melt shots, sift piles, lab tests, and family moments. Their blend of culture, love, and craft resonated with a global audience. They didn’t just make hash; they made a lifestyle that others wanted to follow.
Solventless Pioneers
Before rosin became mainstream, Ozi and Flora were already proving the power of solventless. Cuban Tech wasn’t just a method—it was a standard of purity that influenced both legacy makers and licensed competitors. Their work bridged eras, showing solventless could be both traditional and revolutionary.
A Power Couple Like No Other
Together, Ozi and Flora built more than a technique—they built a legacy. From Cuban roots to Northern California grows, from underground culture to competition wins, they redefined what solventless hash could be. Their story is not just about extraction, but about love, family, and the pursuit of excellence.
