BAG SECURED: DEEP IN MY BAG SINCE ‘09

What began as a grind through San Francisco’s underground lanes in 2009 has evolved into a multi-state cannabis operation with deep cultural roots. Founded officially in 2018, Deep in the Bag is more than a brand name—it’s a declaration of constant motion and relentless hustle. The name reflects the founder’s journey: 20-hour drives, gas in the trunk, and zips in rotation long before any logo hit a pouch.

SF-BUILT, BAG-FED

From day one, the hustle was Bay-bred and Bay-fed. Early runs moved alongside Mountburnin Farms and Family Vines, the same circles responsible for legendary drops like Bacio 41 and Zookies. No marketing blasts were needed—word traveled smoker to smoker, and the product spoke for itself.

EARLY PACKS HIT DIFFERENT

The initial plays weren’t about mass exposure but about curating elite connections. By keeping quality high and noise low, Deep in the Bag became a trusted name in California’s true connoisseur circles.

SANTA CRUZ TO SETBACKS

By 2018, the brand was running large grows in the Santa Cruz mountains with Haupia Strain, producing flower that built a loyal following. But in late 2021, shifting laws led to raids and skittish landlords—forcing them off their farm and out of production.

FROM FARMS TO BRANDING

Losing a grow site didn’t end the motion—it redirected it. With cultivation on pause, they doubled down on the bag itself. Branding sharpened, identity solidified, and their first recreational drops landed in 2021. But distribution challenges led to a quick retreat from California’s legal market.

COAST TO COAST PRESSURE

A pivotal trip to New York in late 2021 opened new lanes. The connections made turned into permanent footholds. By 2022, Deep in the Bag was back in California menus, but as New York’s market exploded in 2024, focus shifted east for good.

NEW STATE, SAME MISSION

Operating now out of New York, the mission hasn’t changed: deliver consistent, top-tier product without middlemen. The brand now runs eight separate cannabis lines under one unified umbrella—each maintaining the same level of quality that built their name.

BACK TO THE ROOTS

The relationship with Farmers Choice 831 has been a throughline since the early days. After the 2021 raid, both explored out-of-state plays. Now, they’re building something fully legal together in Mendocino—blending legacy roots with regulated market expansion.

CANDY TRUCK JUST PULLED UP

The latest collaboration with High Monkey NYC, dubbed “Candy Truck,” is a nod to the playful yet potent side of their catalog—serving as both a product drop and a cultural moment.

LICENSES LOCKED

With both a cultivation license and a consumption license secured in New York, Deep in the Bag is positioned to control its destiny. Whether on the recreational side, the traditional side, or the cultural side, the brand’s foundation remains intact.

The pack got deeper. The vision got louder. And for Deep in the Bag, the game is far from over.
